STF (Federal Supreme Court) Minister Luís Roberto Barroso commented on the recent attacks by Bolsonarists in New York, USA.

This Tuesday, while walking in the American city, a Bolsonarist approached him. In a viral video, the man asks Barroso as he enters the venue: “Will you respond to the Armed Forces? Will you allow the source code to be exposed? Brazil needs this answer, Minister, with all due respect.”

The minister then replied: “You lost, fool. Don’t bother”. The sentence was one of the most commented on social networks and among political leaders of the day.

This was Barroso’s second intimidation during his trip to the USA. Last time, Barroso had asked the woman approaching him not to be “rude”.

Another name that is the target of constant attacks in the USA is Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Both were within sight of current president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who launched attacks on electronic voting machines without providing evidence.

Bolsonaro lost the second round of the presidential election to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who took over the federal government on January 1, 2023.

Barroso testified on Twitter after today’s episode. “The ideal Republic is made with an agenda of honesty, patriotism, public liberties, equal opportunity, respect, pluralism, and a public interest agenda aimed at uniting people rather than dividing them. We have to do it right,” he wrote.
