The national government became official on Tuesday increasing the percentage of food aid, provided through Universal Child Allowance and reaches 4.1 million people. This corresponds to the April payment and that will be charged in the first days of May.

By Resolution 371/2022, published in the Official Gazette, containing the signature of the Minister of Social Development, Juan Zabaleta, a 50 percent increase in value corresponding to Food Card.

The proposal was announced last week and is part of the government’s attempt to “protect and enhance the purchasing power” of vulnerable people, according to Minister Zabaleta.

The new amounts that will be received from next month are:

– $ 9,000 for fathers or mothers with children from 0 to 14 years old included; pregnant women (from the third month) and families with dependent persons with disabilities, with no age limit.

– $ 13,500 for fathers or mothers with 2 children who meet Category 1 targeting criteria (A and/or C), and pregnant women (from the third month) with a child who meets the criteria in Category 1 targeting (A or C).

– $ 18,000 for fathers or mothers with 3 children who meet Category 1 targeting criteria (A and/or C), and pregnant women (from the third month) with at least two children who meets Category 1 targeting criteria (A and/or C).

The increase corresponds to the April payment, that is will require a State investment of $ 27,000 millionand credit with program cards, according to official sources.

“The Food Card is no longer a card, now it is seen in the AUH and shows that mothers and fathers have more autonomy in the administration of these funds, because when the funds are administered they go to the neighborhood of vegetables, butchers, in the popular economy, ”Minister Zabaleta said on the Web.

At the same time, he added that the goal is to go to “universalization” and that State assistance will stop at the intermediate. “When combined with one, that policy has to go directly to everyone in need, that’s the path and we will tread it without hesitation,” he concluded.

President Alberto Fernández, along with Economy Minister Martín Guzmán, announced a new bonus for informal workers and monotributists, similar to IFE, $ 18,000, while retirees will receive another bonus of $ 12,000.

This is a “reinforcement to improve income” that workers without formal income will receive. This segment will receive a bonus in two installments of $ 9,000 in May and June and will reach workers between 18 and 65 years old.

Monotax workers in categories A and B and domestic service workers in private homes, whether they are registered or not, will also receive a bonus of $ 18,000 in two installments.

“Obviously we have problems, if we don’t recognize them, we won’t be able to move forward in protecting those with the least, so the announcement yesterday that there were reinforcements for these revenues,” Minister Zabaleta said.
