The national government became official on Tuesday increasing the percentage of food aid, provided through Universal Child Allowance and reaches 4.1 million people. This corresponds to the April payment and that will be charged in the first days of May.

By Resolution 371/2022, published in the Official Gazette, containing the signature of the Minister of Social Development, Juan Zabaleta, a 50 percent increase in value corresponding to Food Card.

The proposal was announced last week and is part of the government’s attempt to “protect and enhance the purchasing power” of vulnerable people, according to Minister Zabaleta.

The new amounts that will be received from next month are:

– $ 9,000 for fathers or mothers with children from 0 to 14 years old included; pregnant women (from the third month) and families with dependent persons with disabilities, with no age limit.

– $ 13,500 for fathers or mothers with 2 children who meet Category 1 targeting criteria (A and/or C), and pregnant women (from the third month) with a child who meets the criteria in Category 1 targeting (A or C).

– $ 18,000 for fathers or mothers with 3 children who meet Category 1 targeting criteria (A and/or C), and pregnant women (from the third month) with at least two children who meets Category 1 targeting criteria (A and/or C).
