The producers of Broadway, the world’s mecca for theatre, make up a select group of creatives, producers, actors and businessmen united by their devotion to live productions on New York’s famed stage. The Broadway League makes available to voters who each year choose the best plays, the best actors and the best productions by awarding the coveted prize Tony Awardthe Oscar of the theater.

Something similar happens in our country: Corrientes Street is the epicenter of dozens of theaters which also make the local industry a beacon for the rest of the world. The producers of the article constitute a group of entrepreneurs who have historically gambled despite the ups and downs of the economy.

In this sense, the figure of Valentina Berger, an Argentinian linked to the theater through her company Go Broadway, has grown in recent years, with which she produces various shows both in New York and on Corrientes Street.

According to several publications, Berger was related to the production of “Agency”“, the work which this year received the Tony Award in the category “Best Revival of a Musical”.

However, on the Internet Broadway Data Base (IBDB), the official site of the Broadway League, Berger is not listed as a producer. On the other hand, there is another Argentine, Ricardo Hornos, who can attribute this Tony Award to others that he already has in his long career as a Broadway theater producer.

Meanwhile, Valentina Berger co-produced the show with Ricardo Hornos “The Minutes”which was nominated this year for Best Play but ultimately failed to win the Tony.

“Company” is a musical set in New York, exploring relationships, marriage, fear of loneliness or the need for independence. In 1972 it was released on Broadway and won six Tony Awards. It was re-released in 2021 and won the “Best Replacement” award this year.
