Kyiv says ten soldiers and nine civilians were released in exchange for Russia

The Ukrainian government announced on Thursday 21 the release of ten soldiers and nine civilians in a new prisoner exchange with Russia, without disclosing the number of Russians who returned in the operation.

“A new prisoner exchange has taken place. We brought back 19 people, ten military personnel and nine civilians, including two officers,” Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk told Telegram.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that among those discharged, there are now injured people who can receive care and rehabilitation.

Vereshchuk announced on Tuesday that 66 Ukrainians had been released in the previous exchange with Russia.

There was no confirmation from Russia about this swap or how many of its citizens would be released.
