Mascherano unveiled the list of the Under 20 Selection with two “foreigners”

Coach Javier Mascherano published this Friday the final squad list for the South American Sub 20 which will be played between 19 January and 12 February in Colombia.

Among the 23 mentioned there are two boys who play abroad. These are Facundo Buonanotte, who recently moved to Brighton in England, and Nicolás Paz, son of Pablo Paz, born in Tenerife, who plays for Real Madrid. The presence of Máximo Perrone, from Vélez and close to moving to Manchester City in England also stands out.

Another of the team’s figures is goalkeeper Federico Gomes Herth, who comes from being part of the group that collaborated with the Qatar 2022 world champions. The young Tigre was the only sparring partner who traveled to the Middle East to work with Emiliano Dibu Martínez, Franco Armani and Gerónimo Rulli under the orders of Martín Tocalli and Damián Albil.

The South American Sub 20 Championship, now in its thirtieth edition, will see the participation of ten selected teams divided into two groups.

Zone A will see the participation of Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Peru. And in zone B there will be Ecuador, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile and Bolivia. The first three of each group will advance to the final phase, which will be played against all of them and will deliver four places for the category World Cup, which will be held between May and June in Indonesia. Also, not counting Chile, the continental competition will offer three places for the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile.
