Ontario police watchdog is investigating after a Waterloo police officer shot a 22-year-old man in Cambridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said officers from Waterloo Regional Police were called to a residence in the Ironstone and Sandalwood Drives area before 12:30 pm for a wellness check.
When the police arrived, there was an interaction between a man and police.

SIU said an officer who drew his gun at the man. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.The agency assigned four investigators and two forensic investigators to the case.
