Paris, April 24, 2022 (AFP) – Police shot dead two people in central Paris on Sunday when they opened fire on a vehicle that tried to crash into them, officials told AFP.

According to the same source, the car accelerated towards the police, who fired their guns while driving in the opposite direction.

The events took place in Pont-Neuf, in the center of the French capital.

Police said a judge was expected at the crime scene where the perimeter was set up and the National Police Inspector General of the National Police was called to investigate the incident, as often happens when an agent fires his gun.
