It ended with the match played last Wednesday for the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup 3-2 defeat of Galatasaray. A duel that brought with it quite a few controversies given that the referee and the assistant VAR annulled two goals for Icardi’s team, eliminated from the tournament.

The TFF also fined Galatasaray, its chairman Dursun Özbek and Basaksehir manager Emre Belözoglu for “breach of sportsmanship” in post-match statements.
