the next movie from Damien Chazelle, “Babylon”, had its first scenes shown during CinemaCon to an enthusiastically positive reception from early viewers. The information is from Variety.

In the scenes shown, Brad Pitt appears as silent movie star John Gilbert and Margot Robbie appears as 1920s icon Clara Bow. Max Minghella is studio executive Irving Thalberg.

Among the scenes presented, it was also announced the confirmation of the character of Tobey Maguire: the “Spider-Man” actor will be the silent movie star, Charlie Chaplin in the movie. He also signs on as an executive producer.

“Babylon” will be set in 1920s Hollywood, during the transition from silent to talkies, mixing real and fictional characters.

The list also includes Samara Weaving, Li Jun Li, Katherine Waterston, Olivia Wilde, Spike Jonze, Lukas Haas and the bass player Fleaby the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

“Babylon” will be distributed by Paramount Pictures and has a limited release in the United States on December 25, 2022, and released widely on January 6, 2023, making it clear that it is intended to be nominated for an Oscar.

In Brazil, the film has not yet received a release date.
