La Vela Puerca is one of the most popular rock bands from the Río de la Plata, with tremendous convening power in Argentina and Uruguay. It’s been four years since they released a new album well -spoken, beyond a few separate songs, collaborations or even previews of this work, called Discopathic.

According to the musicians, the word in the title refers to “The one who has the disease of records. It affects the intermusical disc formed by a vinyl substance called LP. It is placed between each groove and its function is to give happiness to the ears ”.

Discopathic This is a rock album that reflects the style and personality of this band that has been in business for over 25 years. The first cut is The pill, with the guest participation of Arquero, an important rapper from the Uruguayan urban music scene. The song showed all the strength and energy that is unique to La Vela.

The creation process took place between August 2021 and February 2022. The recording was done by Alejandro Vázquez at Estudio Mi Semilla, Montevideo, and the voices at Chacra San Benito, Colonia del Sacramento.

The album was mixed by Alejandro Vázquez at Van Vliet Studio, Buenos Aires. The mastering was done by Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone in Sterling Sound, New Jersey, USA. The artistic production was performed by Alejandro Vázquez and La Vela Puerca.

In addition to Andrea Echeverri in the current single Storm and Diego Arquero in the earlier release The pillthe album features special guests like Tito Fuentes (Molotov) who added his guitar to The paradiseMauricio Ortiz (No Te Va Gustar) with the magic of his baritone sax on some songs, Lucía Vecino on choirs, Patricio Villarejo on Cello and Martín Morón on trombone.

A tour with Luna Park in October

Discopathic It will be shown within the framework of an extensive international tour that will visit several countries, starting with 10 shows already announced in Spain. Also confirmed on Oct. 6 at Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires and on Nov. 19 at the Montevideo Municipal Velodrome.
