“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” hits theaters on May 5th and brought John Krasinski how Reed RichardsThe Mr. fantastic, leader of the Fantastic Four, in a cameo. But did you know that the casting of the actor of “The Office” as the character is already a very old desire of the fans?

Well before a new Fantastic Four feature was confirmed in December 2020, fans were already campaigning for it to Krasinski assumed the position of team leader, with his wife, the also actress Emily Bluntliving Sue Storma Invisible Woman. And the actor declared, in an interview with ScreenRantwho would play the character:

“I’d love that! I’m still figuring out this whole superhero thing. I didn’t read comics as a kid, not a lot, I read some but not a lot. I’m a huge superhero fan though, so I would love to do something like that”declared in 2018, during the promotion of “A Silent Place”, a film written, directed and starring by Krasinski.

In February 2020, close to the release of “A Quiet Place: Part II” – which ended up being canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic – the actor was asked again about the possibility of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

“I would love to be in the Marvel universe. I love those movies because they’re fun, but I also believe they’re well done. And certainly a lot of my friends are in those movies. I have no idea what. [a Marvel] are thinking, but if they’re considering me to be Mister Fantastic, keep considering me, because I’d love that.” TotalFilm.

And it seems that so much effort from fans and public statements from Krasinski that I would love to play the character made up for it. In addition to the cameo in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, the actor should really return to play the Mr. fantastic in “Fantastic Four”, which still has no premiere date.
