Conservative leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre denounced the “good replacement” theory, which would be central to the author’s motivations of the mass shooting in Buffalo, New York.

According to Mr. Poilievre, this school of thought is disgusting and inciting hatred.

In a written statement sent to The Canadian Press, one who was one of the career favorites for the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada condemned the attack that left 10 dead and 3 injured on Saturday. Police authorities indicate it was an armed white man who fired at a grocery store located in an area where the majority of the population is black.

U.S. law enforcement is still investigating the shooter’s online posts, allegedly responding to the theory that a conspiracy was being conducted to reduce white people’s influence in society.

People adhere to the theory of great replacement believes that this change of guard will take place through the route of immigration. They also point out that white people have a lower birth rate than people of other backgrounds. Some say that this plot was led by the Jews.

Mr Poilievre responded to his statement in a Twitter post from one of his opponents in the Conservative race, Patrick Brown.

Mr Brown recalled on Twitter Pat King, one of the leaders of the suspects freedom convoy who went to the streets of Ottawa in February, raised the theory of great replacement in the past.

Interim Conservative Leader Candice Bergen also sent out a statement, in which she called racism abhorrent. The “great substitute” conspiracy theory is supported by racists and idiots. Conservatives unanimously condemn this current thinking.

Ms Bergen added that although Canadians have the right to protest, they cannot illegally block or occupy certain areas or make hate speech.
