Holiday destination: live a native experience

This is “89% of Quebecers [qui] say they want to live an Aboriginal experience on their next vacation, ”according to a recent study cited by the Director General of Aboriginal Tourism Quebec, Dave Laveau. Few people know how to do it, however, according to him. The director sees more and more unity from Quebecers towards Aboriginal people, and he thinks tourism is an extraordinary tool for bringing two people together.

The vice-president of operations for the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada, Sébastien Desnoyers, said few organizations have succeeded despite the pandemic that has thrived, in the virtual example.

We live the experience locally, but in a virtual way.

However, there are still difficulties due to the pandemic, whether it is lack of employees, lack of funds, or even the price of fuel, the vice president underlined.

Tourism should serve to bring Quebecers closer to Aboriginals, but also allows for “integration of nations,” Dave Laveau said.
