The man who allegedly stabbed a Beauport resident last week faces a second-degree murder charge.

Chrisitan Ouellet, 27, appeared Friday morning at the Quebec courthouse.

He is accused of killing François Boivin, 35 years old.

The victim was found bleeding in the parking lot of an apartment building on Avenue Saint-Narcisse, around 4:30 am

He was first charged with death threats and violation of bail conditions.

Due to the second degree murder case, Ouellet will remain incarcerated in the judicial process.

He will have to submit a motion to the Superior Court if he wants the Court to conduct an inquest for release.

At the request of the prosecution, the Court imposed a ban on him from speaking to half a dozen people during his detention.

Last week, he was charged with death threats and violation of conditions of release.

His files will be returned to the Court in July for further proceedings.
