Justin Thomas won overtime in the PGA Championship

American Justin Thomas won the PGA Championship in overtime against fellow American Will Zalatori on Sunday in the Southern Hills.

This is the second PGA Championship title for Thomas, who also achieved success in 2017.

The winner won in front of Zalatori after three mandatory extra shots. The rival birdy on the first hole and then Thomas gave himself a one-shot priority on the second flag by taking another birdie.

On the final hole, Thomas birdy again, confirming a victory that seemed unlikely at the end of the tournament.

In the lead before competing for the 18th pennant, Mito Pereira fell under pressure and sent his ball into the water. That’s why he played a double bogey that allowed Thomas and Zalatori to work overtime.

The Chilean delivered a final card of 75, five strikes over par, seeing his three-stroke lead in the final round melted as the day progressed. He finished with a cumulative -4.

American Cameron Young tied in 3rd, with Pereira, one step behind the leaders.

Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick of England finished at -3, as well as American Chris Kirk, while Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland, two -time PGA Championship champion, followed in 8th place with a performance of -2.
