Buffalo, New York, May 14, 2022. Ten people were killed last week and three others were injured in a shooting at a supermarket in a predominantly black area in the city of Buffalo, United States. The suspect in the attack was identified as Payton Gendron

El Paso, August 3, 2019: Twenty people were killed when a man entered a Walmart and started shooting. Authorities said as many as 3,000 buyers and 100 employees were inside the building at the time.

Parkland, Fla. February 14, 2018: A former student fires at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The suspect was expelled for disciplinary reasons, authorities said. He was arrested after the attack. 17 people died.

First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs November 5, 2017: A man entered a small church in a rural Texas town and shot 25 people and an unborn child to death. The shooter, identified by two law enforcement sources as Devin Patrick Kelley, was found dead after a brief chase, but it is unclear if he was shot or killed. It was the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history.

Music Festival in Las Vegas October 1, 2017: A gunman, identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, shot from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino hotel at a crowd of more than 20,000 who had gathered on the Las Vegas Strip for the Route 91 Harvest music festival. He killed 58 people and injured more than 500. Police believe the gunman committed suicide. It was the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.

Pulse Nightclub June 12, 2016: Omar Saddiqui Mateen, 29, fires inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando. At least 49 people were killed and more than 50 were injured. Police shot and killed Mateen in an operation to free the hostages officers he allegedly held inside the club.

Virginia Tech Massacre

The shooting at Virginia Tech University in the state of Virginia in April 2007 left 32 people dead. The culprit was a 23-year-old student identified as Seung-hui Cho.

Sandy Hook School Massacre In December 2012: An attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, claimed the lives of 20 children and seven adults. Aggressor Adam Lanza, 20, also died in the incidents, raising the death toll to 28.

Massacre at the University of Texas at Austin in August 1966: Charles Joseph Whitman, a former United States Marine, killed 16 people and injured 30 at the University of Texas. The man killed his mother and father before coming to university.
