An 18-year-old faces two second-degree murder charges in connection with the deaths of family members in Brussels, Ont., A small town between Kitchener and Lake Huron.

Police released the identities of the victims on Monday, saying Beverly Stevenson, 69, and Darwin Ducharme, 65, were found dead at their property on Wednesday.

The accused was arrested on Saturday with the help of several police units. He was also charged with possession of property worth more than $ 5,000 obtained by the crime.

Jamie Stanely of Ontario Provincial Police said he would not release the cause of death at this time. He would not say if a weapon was used. He also did not want to specify how the accused identified the victims, except to say they were members of his family.

The teenager, who is from Morris-Turnberry, remains in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday in Goderich.
