The first of the options, the one that requires an age proof document to be loaded, does not seem surprising and is even common on many systems. However, the other two are new.

The so-called “Social Vouching” because it will require at least thats three common followers verify agefor which they will be sent a notice that they will receive in the app itself and will have three days to respond.

And the third optionwhich is most striking is that of send a video from the selfie camera. This is the section where Instagram claims to partner with Yoti. It will not be a natural person to corroborate the legitimacy of the video, but it will be one artificial intelligence system which, based on the facial features, can determine if the age is correct or not.

Taking into account that this function is aimed at minors, the issue of privacy. According to Instagram in its statement, they will share that video with Yoti and, once verified, it will be removed from both servers so that no one can access it.
