Amazon will adapt another work by Neil Gaiman for you streaming Prime Video, after adapting “American Gods”. Now, the work “The Sons of Anansi” had a new name announced for its cast: Whoopi Goldberg (“The Stand”).

The Oscar-winning actress for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “Ghost: On the Other Side of Life” will play Bird Woman, goddess of birds and one of the main antagonists of the plot.

Goldberg joins the cast that already has the actors Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Emmanuel Ighodaro, Cecilia Noble, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and Don Gilet.

Goldberg and other newly hired actors will play gods of the World Before Time, a place where animals and incarnate gods live surrounded by beauty, magic and danger.

Based on the book “Os Filhos de Anansi”, released in Brazil by Editora Intrinseca, “Anansi Boys” follows Charlie Nancy (Delroy Lindo), a man with a quiet life and a boring job in London.

However, while trying to reconnect with his father, who lives in the United States, unexpected events lead Charlie to discover that his father was a god and that he himself has a brother.

The series does not yet have a set premiere date.
