“Sonic 2” seems to be really a real success. On its US premiere night alone, the sequel grossed an estimated $6.3 million, and is poised to surpass “Morbius” and the hit “The Batman.”

According to data from Variety, the expectation is that the new feature of the blue hedgehog raises about US$ 55 million in its opening weekend in the country. The vehicle also compared the performance of the animation by Paramount Pictures with “Ambulance – The Murder Day”, by Michael Baydefining the reached numbers as “a shame”.

The plot of “Sonic 2” shows the villain Dr. robotnik (Jim Carrey) returning from his exile on a distant planet after finding “the source of all power“. But he is not alone… the Dr. has the company of knuckleswho proves to be an opponent worthy of the title character.

Check out the official synopsis: “After staying in Green Hills, Sonic wants to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test will come with the return of Dr. Robotnik, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of an emerald with the power of destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they will embark on a journey across the world to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.”.

The cast still has Idris Elba (“Revenge & Punishment”), as knuckles; Ben Schwartz (“Leslie’s Confusion”), such as the sonic; James Marsden (“Enchanted”), Natasha Rothwell (“Wonder Woman 1984”) and the participation of Colleen O’Shaughnessey (“Naruto”) dubbing tails.
