The story went viral in 2021, in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic. But even now the farmers are not removed from their amazement.
Four years ago, farmer Sankalp Singh Parihar traveled to the southern city of Chennai in India in search of hybrid coconut seeds. While on the train, he spoke to a man sitting across from him. When the subject learned that Parihar was a farmer, offered to sell him a special mango sprout for 2,500 rupees ($ 33).
Out of curiosity, he decided to take a chance and buy it.
The mango is monitored for 24 hours.
“I don’t know what breed of mango it is, but I named it Damini in honor of my mother and planted it,” said Parihar, who lives in the city of Jabalpur, in central India. “I raised it [el retoño] like an ordinary mango plant, but after a few months, I saw it had a beautiful red color. ”
Upon learning that Parihar had a special type of red mango on his farm, traders from the Indian cities of Surat and Bombay approached the farmer. “When I was offered more than 21,000 rupees ($ 283) for it I realized it was something important.”
The special mango he bought by accident was, in fact, the Japanese miyazaki mango, which is considered the most expensive type of mango in the world.
So they had to resort nine dogs of security -six of them were German shepherds- that four guards so that they would not steal their crops (they had already stolen).

“A jeweler in Mumbai is willing to pay any price we mention. But I have clarified that we will not sell it to anyone. We will use the fruits to plant more plants,” Rani told the Hindustan Times.
The couple planted about 150 trees but so far only four have borne fruit. They did not do it all together: they first planted fifty and then a hundred more.

Miyazaki is a ruby colored fruit known in its best specimens as “Eggs of the day”. They are very expensive because their production is very low, therefore they are very rare and hard to find.
Ayon GS Kaushalformer director of the horticultural department of Madhya Pradesh, its taste is very sweet and in Japan it is often used as a gift.
They grew up since the 1970s and 1980s in the city of Miyazaki (hence the name), Japan. They weigh over 350 grams and have a sugar content of 15 percent or more.
The Hindustan Times reported that Miyazaki is rich in antioxidants and contains beta-carotene and folic acid, which help fight eye fatigue and prevent low vision.
