Twitter takeover: Elon Musk opposes quick ruling on litigation

The leaders of the social network would like the trial to open in September, so as not to prolong the period of uncertainty that partially paralyzes the company.

Elon Musk filed a lawsuit on Friday to stop the lawsuit with Twitter until next year, after the social network requested an accelerated procedure.

In a court document cited by US media, the Tesla boss’s lawyers accuse Twitter’s board of directors (CA) of wanting to send the case.

The CA began a legal process against Elon Musk on Tuesday, to force him to buy the platform under the terms agreed with him at the end of April, which valued the Californian group at 44,000 million dollars.

The leaders would like the trial to open in September, so as not to prolong the period of uncertainty that partially paralyzes the company.

The billionaire asked him not to start before February 13, given the complexity of the elements to be examined.

Asked by AFP, Elon Musk’s lawyer did not immediately respond.

“bad faith”

The contract was signed at the end of April to access Twitter, ahead of announcing unilaterally the week before it met the end of the agreement, it seems that the CA will not have four reliable information on the name of faux comptes actifs sur the net.

Their lawyers assure that the lawsuit will require analyzing “mountains of data” to prove, as Elon Musk claims, that the platform is plagued by inauthentic accounts, automated accounts and spam, well above the 5% indicated by the company.

“He tried to + suspend + the contract while waiting to meet imaginary conditions, he failed to meet his obligation to find financing (…) he violated his duty to reserve (and) he used confidential information for bad purposes,” the company’s lawyers listed. “Twitter has suffered and will continue to suffer irreparable harm as a result of these breaches.”

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday before a specialized business law court in Delaware (eastern United States).
