“I was responsible for my mistakes, but this it’s up to the one responsible”, Hurricane goalkeeper Marcos Díaz wrote about an Instagram story consisting of two broadcast captures of the match his team played on Monday against Barracas Central.

In both, he was the important subject to watch on the edge of the penalty area and started a play that ended with a goal, but was annulled by the VAR check. What happened? The referee received a call from Ezeiza – where video judges were analyzing the situations – and promised because he noticed the goalkeeper holding the ball outside the area. The decision that followed is familiar history: the free kick where Ivan Tapia put up 1 to 2 declaring the Globe defeat.

“What the VAR should have done: show when I quit,” he wrote about an image created with the help of video editors from the coaching staff: a “virtual wall” to be checked for no foul, that it is within the permitted area.

In the adjacent picture, the TV picture confirming the referee’s decision where he sees that his hands are very close to the ball, outside the limits that allow him to pick it up. “What the VAR showed and what (Darío) Herrera received, when he released him”, wrote. “I hope they are always thorough,” he closed the post.

After his publication went viral, the goalkeeper expanded his opinion on TyC Sports, where he did not criticize the technological system, but the way it is used. “The machine won’t go wrong. What is wrong is driving the machine“, he asked.

“There are certain errors that the VAR needs to resolve, but it doesn’t work… On these two dates there were hands or foul criminals, or not, “he said without mentioning the cases, but pointed to controversies such as Vélez – Boca for an alleged punishment that was not charged Fortín – the ball came out before the field of play – or foul in the area Sebastian Villa |not warned.

“The same thing that happened at Villa (a stomp in the area) happened to (Fabián) Henriquez, who is still injured. If they are very meticulous, let them be like that in all games,” the goalkeeper recommended.
