Russia: Kyiv denies any involvement after the death of Daria Dougin in the explosion of her car

The journalist and political scientist died on Saturday in the explosion of her vehicle near Moscow. The leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic accuses kyiv of ordering the attack, which Ukraine denies.

Kyiv denies this Sunday being linked to the death of the journalist and political scientist Daria Dougin, daughter of the Russian ideologue close to the Kremlin Alexandre Dougin, killed in the explosion of her car on Saturday near Moscow, while the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues.

“Ukraine certainly had nothing to do with yesterday’s explosion [samedi soir, NDLR]because we are not a criminal state,” said an adviser to the Ukrainian presidency, Mikhaïlo Podoliak, during a televised intervention.

Born in 1992, Daria Duguine showed, like her father, open support for the Russian offensive in Ukraine. She had been under British sanctions since July, and London accused her of spreading “disinformation about Ukraine” online.

Donetsk accuses Ukraine of being behind the attack

This Sunday, the leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR), self-proclaimed pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, Denis Pushilin, accused Ukrainian forces of being behind the murder of Daria Dugina.

“The terrorists of the Ukrainian regime tried to liquidate Alexander Dugin, but they blew up his daughter,” he said on Telegram.

“If the Ukrainian trail is confirmed (…) and must be verified by the competent authorities, it will be the state terrorism policy launched by the kyiv regime,” the door – spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy Maria – reacted on Telegram. Zakharova.

Sciences-Po and Inalco professor Patrick Martin-Genier estimates on BFMTV that “some are suspicious of the Ukrainians, but it’s still too early to tell.” He also evokes the possibility of an attack perpetrated by Russian “internal opponents of the regime”, hostile to the war in Ukraine.

Investigation opened for “homicide”

Daria Douguine was killed on Saturday “at the scene” of the explosion, while driving a Toyota Land Cruiser. The vehicle exploded before catching fire on a road near the village of Bolchiye Viaziomy, about 40 kilometers from Moscow, according to the Russian Investigative Committee.

According to investigators, an explosive device was placed in the vehicle, and everything indicates that “the crime was planned and ordered in advance.” An investigation has been opened for “homicide”.

Promoter of the “Eurasian” doctrine, a kind of alliance between Europe and Asia under Russian leadership, Alexandre Douguine, who influences part of the French extreme right, has been the target since 2014 of the EU sanctions adopted as a result of the annexation of Ukraine.
