The Ottawa Senators cut three straight losses with a 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.

Austin Watson opened the scoring for the Senators in the first period while Drake Batherson scored the game-winning goal for the visitors in the second period after Tyler Bertuzzi tied the game in the second period.

Tim Stützle scored twice, each time on an empty net, late in the third period. He also got his 30th assist of the season.

Anton Forsberg blocked 24 shots for the Red Wings while Thomas Greiss had 28 saves. The Red Wings have won just two of their last 10 games (2-5-3).

Minnesota oilers dominate

Kevin Fiala and Ryan Hartman scored twice on Tuesday to bolster the Minnesota Wild to a 5-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Frédérick Gaudreau added the 11th goal for Minnesota, which is 11-1-2 in 14 games. Cam Talbot made 27 saves, only to be defeated by Leon Draisaitl in the third period.

Draisaitl set a personal high with his 51st goal this season. Another Oilers offensive star Connor McDavid had his second straight game with no points and was just three points ahead of Jonathan Huberdeau at the top of the NHL with 108 to 105.
