After passing his turn after his first year at university, Bennedict Mathurin will try his luck in the NBA this time around. The 19-year-old Montrealer has announced that he will be eligible for the draft next June.

Pac-12 Player of the Year and NCAA Second Team All-Star, the Arizona Wildcats winger averaged 17.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in his sophomore year.

His team was ranked 2nd in the country at the start of the season-ending March Madness tournament and was named the favorite in the Southern region. The Wildcats, however, were eliminated by the University of Houston Cougars in Round of 16. Quebecer scored 30 points in the previous game against TCU, notably saving his team in the final seconds of regulation time.

Bennedict Mathurin is widely seen as a potential first-round pick. A review of mock drafts published by North American exercise experts sees him called 9th overall, on average.
