expoagrothe vast sampling of the Argentine countryside once again becomes the ideal epicenter for brands offering products for rural and zootechnical activities.
Over the years the show has become something of a country car show and this year was no exception. The automotive companies have landed with their novelties in the traditional property located in the city of San Nicolás (National Route 9, km 225), province of Buenos Aires.
And in this edition, which ends on Friday 10 March, it is trucks and small cars that trample.
New brand for brand
Ford. Once again the official sponsor of the show (17th consecutive year), it presents the automatic version of the new Transit as a novelty, to which the 100% electric version (E-Transit) will soon be added.
The small car was relaunched last year and arrives from Uruguay in the Minibus, Van and Chasis versions; all equipped with the 125 and 135 horsepower 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine.
Also new are the Maverick Hybrid, which will be launched soon, and the Mustang Mach-E, the electric SUV which will join the model list during 2023.
Volkswagen. The novelty focuses on the e-Delivery truck, the 100% electric version of its urban delivery model which will be launched in our market during the second half of the year.
The e-Delivery will be available in two versions: 11-ton 4×2, with a total gross weight of 10,700 kg and a maximum payload capacity, added to the body, of 6,320 kg; and 14-ton 6×2, with a total gross weight of 14,300 kg and a maximum payload capacity, added to the body, of 8,755 kg.
The VW e-Delivery will have a 300kW (equivalent to 402hp) engine with 2,150Nm of peak torque that can be powered by a three-pack 610v/106kWh lithium-ion battery, giving it a range of 110 kilometres, and another of 6 packs of 640 v/193 kWh, which allows you to travel up to 250 kilometres.
Among the cars, the German brand presents the new Vento GLi and Tiguan Allspace (new for 2023) and the ID. Buzz, the electric reincarnation of the legendary Kombi.
Chevrolet. Also present was the other North American giant exhibiting the Trailblazer, Equinox and S10 pick-up models.
The presence of the Tracker also stands out, the SUV produced in Rosario which will lead the sales of its segment in 2023.
The big absentee is the new Montana pick-up, which will be launched on our market in the second half of the year. Like Ford, the brand with the bow offers test drives on its 4×4 track.
Sling. As part of its 45th anniversary in the country, the Japanese brand has landed in San Nicolás with its most outstanding portfolio of motorcycles, cars, engines and marine products.
The one that catches all eyes is the ZR-V, the mid-size SUV that will arrive from Mexico in the second half of the year as an alternative to the HR-V.
Mechanically it will have a 157 hp 2.0 engine and CVT box, while it will have 8 airbags and various driver assistance systems.
Iveco. The brand that produces the largest number of models in the country, presents the first 9 and 11-tonne Tector units produced in the Córdoba plant, thus showing the progress of the announcements made during 2022.
The proposal is completed with the Tector CNG, the Stralis Hi-Way and Hi-Road, also of national production, and with the 10 m3 Daily utility, with a renewed cab and set up for use as an ambulance.
Mercedesbenz. It is another of the encouraging brands among the heavyweights. In its 1,200 m2 lot, it exhibits the main models it produces in the Industrial Center of La Matanza, including the Accelo and Atego trucks.
In turn, its finance division presents AgroFlex, an exclusive financing plan that offers the customer greater flexibility and the possibility of adapting the payment of his share to the crop settlement period.
Scania. Take advantage of the fair to anticipate the launch of a backpack that doubles the autonomy of gas-powered vehicles in the Green Efficiency line.
This new product consists of four ultra-lightweight carbon fiber tubes which are positioned behind the cabin and provide a stowage capacity of 200m3.
Similarly, the company has announced that it will continue this year with “Scania +10”, the program designed to service the entire truck powertrain, which includes engine, gearbox and differential, in vehicles over 10 years old. .
Photon. The Chinese brand today marketed by the Iraola Group (first imported by Ralitor and then by Adachi Motors) has announced the launch of the eAumark, the first electric truck in Argentina.
This lightweight 3,500 kg net load capacity has a 115 kW (154 hp) electric motor and an 81 kWh lithium-ion battery with which it can travel between 200 and 250 kilometres.
Another novelty on display is the Auman EST-M 245, its first medium truck available in a 17-ton 4×2 chassis version.
