Ford Argentina has announced the launch of its new Territory, the mid-size SUV that arrived on the local market in 2020 offering ample interior space and a high level of equipment. It also had the distinction of being the first model of the brand to be imported from China.

That source is not changed for this update, but there are significant changes in terms of design, safety systems and a new engine bigger and more powerful.

This new model begins its marketing with a pre-sale phase. It will be available with two levels of equipment and with prices that starting at 12,676,000 pesos. Deliveries are scheduled for May.

In this way, Ford continues to bet on the medium SUV segment, as it also sells two other models with similar characteristics and dimensions, such as the Kuga and the Bronco Sport.

New figure and more power

The new Ford Territory arrives with an all-new exterior design, debuting styling that shares the manufacturer’s design language in other models. The large grille and headlights, for example, recall the nose of the Explorer sold in the United States.

The rest of her figure has also been modified and as a result they give a silhouette with more personality. Furthermore, with this the idea of ​​a well-planted vehicle is promoted which I already had before.

There are new features inside as well, as it features a completely revamped dashboard, which highlights the two integrated screens: one for the instrument panel (12″ in the Titanium version and 7″ in the SEL version) and another 12″ touch screen for the infotainment system.

According to Ford, it not only retains among its virtues ample interior space for occupants, but now offers more cargo space in the trunk.

For front occupants, the SEL trim offers a 6-way manual driver’s seat with black cloth upholstery. The Titanium version, on the other hand, has both front seats with electric adjustment (10 positions for the driver and 4 for the passenger) and two-tone micro-perforated faux leather upholstery, with heating and cooling system.

The more equipped version also stands out for its panoramic sunroof electric opening, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting and wood-coloured interior sconces. The multifunction steering wheel, the new automatic gearbox control, now rotating, the central armrest with storage and cup holders, the air vents in the rear seats and the electric windows a touch for the 4 windows are available in both versions.

Part of its equipment is completed by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity, USB charging ports, keyless entry and electric parking brake with automatic hold. The Titanium version also features a wireless charger for mobile devices and electric tailgate opening and closing with hands-free function.

This new generation features a new engine. It is a turbocharged petrol engine 1.8-litre, which delivers 185 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, a notable difference from the previous 1.5-liter with 143 horsepower and 225 Nm. It is mated to a new 7-speed automatic gearbox. The traction is still front and the rear suspension is independent.

In terms of safety, the new Territory has a reinforced structure in high-strength steel, to which 6 airbags are combined (front for driver and passenger, front side and curtain covering both rows of seats), and isofix anchorages for child seats for children.

This model is equipped with the Ford Co-Pilot 360 package, which brings together a number of driving assistance elements. It has a blind spot monitoring system with cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, stability and traction control, hill start assist and a tire pressure monitoring system.

In the case of the more equipped version, autonomous emergency braking with forward collision alert, lane change assistant, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control with Stop&Gofront parking sensors and 360° vision camera.

The new Ford Territory will be available in five colors: white, brown, pearl, black and blue. It has a 3-year or up to 100,000km warranty. The start of marketing and delivery of the units will begin during the month of May, and the suggested prices to the public of the pre-sale are until May 31st: $12,676,000 for SEL version e $14,690,000 for titanium.
