Bulletproof: A dealership has launched a new car armoring service

Strong, the security division of Dietrich Group, a Ford and Volkswagen dealer, has launched “Strong Car Start” in the market, a light ballistic armorcapable of protecting the vehicle from the impact of bullets from .22, .32 and 38 SPL caliber revolvers.

It’s about the level of armor RB 0which within the size of the security alternatives are located above the anti-vandal glass and below the RB2, armor that prevents bullets of larger caliber.

The new product is being developed at its plant in Munro, Buenos Aires province, where the company invested $ 150,000 in technology and machinery. There, in addition, aramid was produced, an anti-bullet material previously imported.

Affordable Protection

According to the company, this new alternative, certified by the National Agency for Controlled Materials (ANMAC, formerly ReNar), is aimed at users of entering the range.

In its technical characteristics, it is remarkable that it only adds 80 kilos in addition to the original weight of the vehicle, and can be made into glass (windshield, rear window and windows) and doors.

The Strong Car Start RB 0 armor has a price $ 1,200,000 if done with crystals, more $ 500,000 additional if the doors are also covered.

Armor levels

The ballistic resistance of the materials used in armor is classified according to seven levels, according to their protective capabilities:

• RB Level 0: Protects against .22 LR caliber and .38 SPL caliber projectiles. They must also provide protection against projectiles caliber .25 inches, .32 inches and 12 UAB No. 4 lead shots.
• Level RB 1: protects against low-velocity .357 Mg caliber and 9mm caliber projectiles, adding .45 caliber ACP and Level RB 0.
• RB Level 2: Protects against high-velocity .357 Mg caliber and medium-velocity 9mm caliber projectiles, including those at RB Level 1.
• RB Tier 3: Against high-velocity .44 Mg and 9mm caliber projectiles, including RB 2 and RB 1 tier.
• RB level 4: protect against projectiles caliber 7.62 mm NATO (.308 Winchester) and caliber 5.56 mm NATO (.223 Remington). They should also be protected against 12-gauge UAB monoposts.
• RB level 5: protect against a 7.62 mm NATO (.308 Winchester) “P” armor-piercing projectile. They also provide protection against a shot, at least, from projectiles of calibers corresponding to the RB 1, RB 2, RB 3 and RB 4 levels.
• RB E level: for special ballistic resistance armor.
