TITO, TITA … the family of electric vehicles of the San Luis company Coordinate continues to expand; this time with the arrival of TITUS S5a larger version already bookable through the presale channel.
Developed in the country, the S5 is Argentina’s only electric car with a 5-door body (Sero Sedan and Volt e1 have 3 doors), an advantage that allows for more comfortable entry and exit for rear passengers.
Compared to its younger brother S2, this model gains 12 centimeters in length and also in autonomy because with the larger battery it is able to travel up to 300 kilometers with a single charge.

More interior space and autonomy
The TITO S5 measures 2.95 meters in length, 1.50 meters in width and 1.65 meters in height. It has a steel frame and a self-supporting sheet metal body.
It has the same 4.5 kW electric motor (equivalent to 60 horsepower) as the S2, associated with an automatic selector, which allows it to reach a maximum speed of 65 km / h. The unit is rear.

The cheaper version has a lithium battery of 8kw which allows a range of up to 100 kilometers. While the 21kW of the S5-300’s battery extends its range by another 200 kilometers. Both are 2,000 cycles.
Electronics and batteries are self-developed. The bodywork, meanwhile, is imported from China.
The charging system of the TITO is lazy load (Eight hours). This means that to charge it simply plug it into a conventional power outlet (220 volts). It also supports partial charges, as if it were a mobile phone.
From the company they assure that it is the simplest way, since “whoever buys the vehicle will not have to make any kind of electrical modification at home. You can safely charge it at night while you sleep”.
As for the safety devices, it is important to note that It has no airbag or stability control.two basic elements of safety.
To charge it, you just need to plug it into a 220V socket. The full charge time is 8 hours.
It has front and rear disc brakes, rear parking sensors and LED headlights.
It also has a 10-inch multimedia touchscreen, the design of which “resembles” the Mini Cooperrear view camera and bluetooth, among others.
As an option, the company offers air conditioning for US $ 1,250 (about $ 160,000) in both versions.
