There were 22 models that will be auctioned on July 2nd.
The world of cars continues to surprise the discovery of unexpected treasures for this 21st century period. The old barns or abandoned workshops do not seem extinct, and with them, fortunately, incredible jewels are kept alive that have managed to withstand the passage of time. In some cases they appear in almost intact conditions; in others, in the form of an exquisite menu for avid restaurateurs from all over the planet.
Now the story winks at an old French barn, where the Complete collection of vintage cars by Pierre Hérona French engineer in love with cars who, after visiting the Paris Motor Show for the first time at the age of 14, never abandoned his passion.
Pierre Héron was a French businessman and collector.
He then became a successful entrepreneur who, in the 60s and 70s, dedicated himself to the purchase of cars made before the Second World War to open a museum. In this way he has acquired more than 200 vehicles which he has collected from all over Europe.
The maximum value of each model is around 200 thousand euros.
Of the classic cars in the barn, with various layers of dirt and cobwebs, some with rusty paint, others with time-worn upholstery, the most picturesque (and certainly the most expensive) is the Talbot Lago T26 GSL from 1954. Of that model, only 15 coupes were produced and this unit is one of them.
Also found within the collection various Delahaye modelsone of these, from the batch of 18 convertibles built in 1948 by Figoni & Falaschi, prestigious coachbuilders of the first half of the last century.
The only non-French vehicle found is the Carriage type 49 from 1928a product of the historic brand Hispano-Suiza, which remains in practically original condition and has never been restored, which enhances its selling value. Artcurial, the house that will be auctioning this collection, estimates that this 94-year-old model can sell for between 40,000 and 60,000 euros, a significant value despite the model requiring extensive restoration.
There are several Delahayes, a defunct luxury brand.
In general, the sale prices are relatively low compared to others with similar characteristics already auctioned. “Conditions of the find in a shed”, they call these abandoned lots in Europe. Therefore, in this case it is estimated that no model can exceed € 200,000.
Pierre Héron’s vast collection of 22 models will be auctioned at an event on 2 July under the name of Le Mans 2022.

Another amazing collection found in France
This is not the first time that incredible collections from the automotive industry have been found. In 2015, also in France, 60 classic cars were found on a farm that had been abandoned for more than 50 years. They were owned by collector Roger Baillon, a failed transportation businessman. The vehicles were subsequently auctioned for $ 20 million.
Héron had bought models all over Europe.
In the lot there were real emblems of the sector, such as the Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider, a Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet, a Porsche 356 SC, the Maserati A6G, the Jaguar Type S 3.4 L, a Lancia Thema 8.32, a Renault Vivastella Cabriolet and a Bugatti 57 Ventoux Barre Torpedo.
And the most interesting thing: some of these cars had a very high value because they had passed into the hands of famous owners such as actors Alain Delon and Jane Fonda or King Faruq of Egypt.
