The first half of the year is over and the auto market is failing to surface. With this scenario, the Association of Automobile Dealers of the Argentine Republic (ACARA) reported having patented in June 34,906 unitswhich represents a decrease on an annual basis of 8.7% (38,235) and of 1.3% compared to May (35,370).
The Fiat Cronos was the best-selling model in June and so far this year it already has 22,549 patented units.
From ACARA they recalled that registrations for June 2021 were inflated due to the closure that registers had at that time for 8 days in May, following health policies regarding COVID-19.
The two-month period May-June 2022 moved around 75,000 units, which means a 20% above of 2021 (61,166).
Despite this positive figure, the first half closed with a down by 0.6% (209,440 units against 210,732 in the 2021 period).

“We will certainly have months ahead of these same levels after the import restrictions of the last few days they will not help increase the supply of units in the second half“, he has declared.
Salomé added that when sudden changes in the dollar price occur, the consumer waits for the value to stabilize in order to make the purchase.
“The market is behaving unevenly, with brands and models in high demand, but others are less in demand, which is why we are starting to see some opportunities in specific models,” he stressed.
As expected on national models continue to dominate the market with 57%, an unprecedented share (although common in recent times) considering that the imported ones have always been the most sought after.
Once again, Toyota ended June as the best-selling brand and is always ahead of Fiat and Volkswagen.

The Japanese brand managed to sell 7,477 units0.1% more than in May and 5.5% more than in 2021. In this way, in the accumulated sum 40,847 vehicles marketed, while Fiat and Volkswagen watch it from behind with 32.435 and 22.673 the units respectively.
