According to figures from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, gasoline has lost another 6.2 cents per liter on average, while the price of diesel has dropped 5.6 cents per liter this week.

Fuel prices continue the decline that began in late June and are slowly approaching less prohibitive prices. According to data from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, the price of a liter of Super SP95 – E10 thus fell by an average of 6.2 cents in a week to reach an average price of 1.8082 euros per liter.

A drop of 5.6 cents in diesel

For its part, diesel also lost 5.6 cents to quote an average price of 1.8782 euros per liter. These amounts still take into account the state aid of 18 cents per liter of fuel, a sign that prices remain very high during this holiday period.

New drop coming?

Still, it’s a welcome reduction for motorists, especially since a new 30-cent state discount is expected at the start of the school year, in addition to the one recently announced by TotalEnergies.

The fall could also be prolonged thanks to their help but also due to the fall in oil prices, undermined by the threat of a global recession. This Monday morning, the price of the American barrel (WTI) fell 2.03% to 96 dollars while the North Sea Brent barrel lost 1.29% to 102 dollars.
