Several models of new 100% electric cars with a more affordable price are expected. Review of the next potential favorites of zero-emission motorists.

The supply of electric vehicles continues to struggle for democratization with a majority of new vehicles currently in the catalog whose price (not including the ecological bonus) exceeds 30,000 euros. This is the case, for example, of a “simple” Renault Zoé, whose prices currently start at 33,700 euros or a Peugeot e-208, at 33,170 euros.

Electric cars for less than 30,000 euros are still not very numerous and, in general, they are still small models, practical for daily use but not very suitable for family vacations, for example. Thus we can mention the Dacia Spring (19,800 euros), the Renault Twingo (24,050 euros) or the Fiat 500e (26,200 euros).

The most affordable models that fall into the “family” category: the MG ZS electric SUV Y the MG5 pickupthat both start from 32,990 euros without aid.

It is also the British brand, belonging to the Chinese group SAIC, which opens our selection of these models that are about to be launched for less than 30,000 euros.

MG, again, has just opened pre-orders for its next model: a versatile sedan called the MG4.

At 4.29 meters long, it should offer more versatility than a small city car. Two versions will be offered with a range of 350 km or 450 km and two engines, 170 or 204 horsepower.

The basic version will start below 30,000 euros, with the commercialization scheduled for next fall.

It was one of the favorites of the Munich fair in September 2021: the first model from a Chinese manufacturer still unknown in Europe, the Ora Cat 01.

At 4.24 meters long, it can also play the role of a compact all-rounder, with a fairly accomplished exterior design.

On the battery side, two versions should be offered, 49 kWh and 63 kWh, offering between 300 and 400 km of autonomy, all with a motor with a power of 163 horses.

Marketed before the summer in the United Kingdom, this car will be launched in Germany in the coming months, indicates Automobile Propre, waiting for France. The opportunity also to discover its official name for Europe: Ora Funky Cat. How not to break?

Fisker is a bit like Tesla’s eternal rival… and he hasn’t really had the same success. After an SUV, the Ocean, the American brand is preparing to launch a more compact model, and above all more affordable, with the hope that the car will be offered below our threshold of 30,000 euros.

However, it will be necessary to have a little patience since its commercialization would be scheduled for 2024, with an unofficial visual of TopElectricSUV seen by Frandroid.

Apart from some still very conceptual images of the interior and exterior, we still know little about this model that will be produced in the United States.

A big name in the French car industry and the promise of an electric car for less than 30,000 euros: Has Renault found the winning formula to (really) democratize the electric car? If the Zoé played the pioneering role in converting many French, the R5 represents the promise of finally affordable zero emissions.

After a concept-manifest, which in passing presented the new diamond and therefore proposed to resurrect this mythical model, finally we still know little about this model, whose commercialization is expected in 2024.

Waiting to know more about its performance, Renault has already decided to produce it in France, at its factory in Douai (North).

And also: Tesla “Model 2”, Renault 4L and Volkswagen ID.2

Other models are expected at a new price of less than 30,000 euros.

Among the most anticipated is the $25,000 Tesla promised by Elon Musk in September 2020 and then planned for… 2023. Fans of the American brand gave him the nickname “Model 2”, but Tesla has not spoken a lot about it. vehicle from… To be continued!

After the R5, Renault has also announced the return of the 4L. Few details there too, but a more compact and affordable version is certainly coming to integrate the range of 7 100% electric models that Renault promised by 2025.

On the part of Volkswagen, the affordable zero emission car will be called ID.2 with a price already announced between 20,000 and 25,000 euros and marketing in 2025.

A little earlier, Hyundai has just announced that it will launch two small electric cars in Europe for less than 20,000 euros, Carscoops writes, the first in 2023 and the second at the end of 2024.
