A group of producers asked by letter to the government that due to the drought the agricultural emergency is declared. They are Teresa Manrique and Martín Cánepa.

The text says the following: “We are two medium-sized agricultural producers who, like so many others, are worried and surprised by the lack of news on steps and / or measures that both the bodies representing this activity and the Government are analyzing regarding the scourge of the current drought that is devastating most of the areas of the country dedicated to agricultural production.

“Perhaps the aforementioned entities have taken the steps within their competence and / or the Government has taken measures to alleviate this situation, which in many places has gone from be an emergency to become an agricultural disaster.

“In this case, we ask to be informed of the level of importance, not only for us agricultural producers, but also for the significant impact it will have on the country’s economy.

“In the event that nothing effective has been done so far, which is extremely serious, we urge you to address this issue. We still have time. Credit, tax relief and other measures have been guaranteed for a long time.

“Our industry, which is often stigmatized, it is mostly composed of small and medium producers that we do not speculate, we limit ourselves to work, we produce what is essential for the well-being of the country, both for consumption and for foreign trade, while we bear a tax burden that we cannot pay today ”.
