Edesur and Edenor tariffs for residential users will increase up to 27% in November in the AMBA. For businesses and industry, this increase will reach 16%. This is reflected in two resolutions published this morning in the Official Journal.
In this way, the increase in electricity tariffs for the Edesur and Edenor distributors is ratified, after the segmentation applied since August. The tariff increases for all users are in effect this month and will be reflected in the bills that will arrive in December.
According to the resolutions 555 and 556/2022, respectively of Edesur and Edenor, «that with respect to the average rate for the residential category at the Rate in force as of October 31, 2022 increases on average 27%; General and T 2 increases on average by 17%; T3 in low and medium voltage increase on average between 18% and 21%; and GUDIS (requests over 300 kW) decrease by 15% in low voltage and by 16% in medium and high voltage “.
Furthermore, it is clarified that in the bill “compared to the table in force as of October 31, 2022, the level 3 residential users of the subcategories R1 to R3 increase between 3% and 4%. From the subcategories R4 to R9 they increase by three approximately percentage points for each segment, varying between 5% and 19% “.
Between the average of 27% and the additional 3% allocated to the execution of the works, the 30% increase foreseen for each section of the segmentation is rounded off.
Tariff segmentation
As Clarín confirmed last week, rate hikes are beginning to be seen this month. It will correspond to the increase in the price of this service in October. Like this, customers can already see if they will face a higher amount on their bills.
The government postponed the increase from September to October because it wanted to identify families which have not been entered in the grant register. People who no longer want to receive benefits are already charged the full rate. In principle, the Executive Branch assumed that high-income sectors (earning more than $ 420,000 a month, owning three houses or three cars) desist from enrolling in that registry.
But they also found millions of families who had not registered and did not have that patrimonial situation and yet had not processed the aid by filling out the RASE form. For this reason the Secretary of Energy is carrying out a strong campaign in which he warns him the possibility of completing registration to maintain grants remains open.
Also you can still delete the RASE, This possibility opens the door for users who desist from subsidies – and if they meet the rest of the requirements – to continue buying dollars.
Both distributors and the government warn that they are classifying as “level 1” (high income) all those who are not registered.
Customers who lose all subsidies will see an increase – in April 2023 – of close to 170%, according to specialist estimates.
Families identified as “middle income” will keep the discounts. But they will charge them the “full price” when they exceed a base consumption block of 400 kWh.
