The Emirate area returns to operate in Argentina

The United Arab Emirates airline, Emirates, has resumed flights between Buenos Aires and Dubai, with a stopover in Rio de Janeiro, after the frequencies remained suspended due to the pandemic.

Flight EK247, operated by Argentine First Officer Fernando Mizza, landed on Wednesday at the Minister Pistarini International Airport in Ezeiza at 20:50, and passengers and crew were received by Paola Tamburelli, Director of the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC). ; Oscar Suarez, director of international markets of INPROTUR and Sebastián Villar Guarino, general manager of Ezeiza airport, among other members of the airport management team. To celebrate the long-awaited recovery, tango dancers performed a welcome show for passengers in the arrivals area of ​​the airport, courtesy of the National Institute for the Promotion of Tourism of Argentina (INPROTUR). Emirates executives Salem Obaidalla, Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the Americas and Stephane Perard, Emirates Country Manager in Brazil were also present at the welcome event.

With the resumption of activities in Argentinawhere he first operated in January 2012, Emirates has already taken over 90% of its pre-pandemic network, which includes more than 130 destinations, including Dubai. The four weekly flights from Dubai to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires will operate as EK247 / EK248, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Flight EK247 departs Dubai at 08:05 and lands in Rio de Janeiro at 15:25. After a stopover of 1 hour and 45 minutes, the flight continues to Argentina at 5:10 pm, landing in Buenos Aires at 8:40 pm. The return flight, EK248, takes off from Ezeiza International Airport at 22:20 and arrives in Rio de Janeiro at 01:10 the next day, after which it leaves again at 02:55, flying to its hub in Dubai with one hour of arrival expected at 11.35 pm.
