Started a race that threatens to be fierce: registrations closed e there are five officer candidates for the presidency of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the largest credit agency in the region. Now begins a week of discussions, alliances and possibly betrayals to choose the person who will lead the entity for at least the next 5 years. Argentina is trying to fill that precious presidential seat in Washington, but it won’t be easy.
The elected will replace Mauricio Claver Carone, fired in the midst of a scandal by the Bank’s Board of Directors for violation of the code of ethics of the organization by maintaining a relationship with an official whose salary was increased by 40%.
President Alberto Fernández nominated to compete for the position Cecilia Todesca Bocco, trusted official and right-hand man of Santiago Cafiero at the Farnesina, where today he is Secretary of International Relations.
