Increase for domestic workers: date set for a new peer review

The National Commission for Work in Private Homes convened a meeting to review parities and set new hourly and monthly rates to counter the effects of high inflation. The meeting date will be next Thursday 24 November.

The tender was implemented with resolution 5/2022 which bears the signature of the president of the national commission for work in private homes, Roberto Picozzi.

Since the last revision last August, which set a 36% hike to be paid in four by 9% (the latest hike came this month)they now lend themselves to dealing with the new hourly and monthly amounts, with and without withdrawal, as well as the additional amounts for each unfavorable area.

So far female employees in private homes have accumulated a 70% increase for the year, against a price increase that reached 88% in October.

The meeting on November 24 at 11, at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, and via zoom if necessary. There, it will be lifted “The evolution of minimum wages for Casas Particulares workers and the analysis of the surtax by unfavorable area”, as detailed in article 5 of the resolution.

The review will try to add an improvement to the one already agreed in the eighth month of the year, and which has started the fifth category, the most in demand, with a monthly salary base of $60,544 for retired personnel.

How are the salaries of domestic workers with the 9% increase.

General duties of employees:

  • with withdrawal: $493 per hour and $60,544 per month.
  • No withdrawal: $531.50 per hour and $67,324.5 per month.

Assistance and care of people:

  • with withdrawal $31.50 per hour and $67,324.50 per month
  • Without withdrawal $595 per hour and $75,026 per month

Home:

  • $531.50 per hour and $67,324.50 per month

Person for specific tasks:

  • With withdrawal: $563 per hour and $69,004 per month
  • No withdrawal: $617.50 per hour and $76,813 per month.

supervisor:

  • With withdrawal: $595 per hour and $74,273 per month
  • No withdrawal: $651.50 per hour and $82,732 per month

Additional for area unfavorable to housework

An additional 30% will be applied to the minimum wage for each of the categories for personnel providing assignments in the provinces of La Pampa, Río Negro, Chubut, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego and the Buenos Aires district of Patagones.

Recognition of seniority for domestic work

In the last two years seniority has been recognized for domestic collaborators. It’s 1%. Service time for the purpose of calculating this additional service will begin counting on September 1, 2020, with no retroactive effect.
