“Today I have sad news to share with you, one that no entrepreneur wants to share. I have decided to reduce the size of our team by 38%.” Thus begins the letter that its CEO and founder, Marcello Cazzollipublished on Medium and made known on social media, after having given the news to his work team.

“I feel great pain for many people who trusted the project and me, and who today they will not be able to continue accompanying us on this journey. However, I have a number of decisions to make that will ensure Lemon’s mission for the long term,” the letter reads.

Despite the recent fall of FTX and its effects across the cryptocurrency world, Lemon has ruled out that this measure has anything to do with this event. “Such a difficult and unwanted decision is not made in a matter of weeks. This was the way to go and we’ve known it for some time.”Cavazzolli said.

“During the first days of November, after the issues faced by FTX/Alameda became public knowledge, Lemon has withdrawn all user funds and removed them as an option for the Earn service,” he explained, though he reiterated, “This hasn’t impacted users or represented a significant amount to the company.”
