“Coca-Cola, with its vision of being a complete beverage company, is committed to exploring new products in different categories to offer a wider line for several occasions,” the Atlanta-based company added.

According to Coca, Schweppes is already known as a leading brand in the cocktail world, so “creating a line of drinks was a natural extension of the brand.”

We are very proud to be able to present this great innovation that it represents our entry into the alcoholic beverage market”, explained Denise Picot, Coca-Cola marketing director for Argentina and Uruguay.

The line was developed by ten women from the Coca-Cola Brazil Innovation Center. The team integrated consultancy with mixologists, field research and consumer testing.

The company had already made a foray into alcoholic beverages when it began selling Topo Chico brand Hard Seltzer, a carbonated water with 4.7% ABV, in the country last year.

The incorporation of alcohol into drinks adds to other actions of Coke, such as gradually decreasing the amount of sugar. The company’s brands include Sprite, Fanta, Dasani, smartwater, vitaminwater, Powerade, Minute Maid, Del Valle and AdeS, among others.
