The main factor for the stagnation in beef values has to do with the production context, which is feeling the effects of a negative combination composed mainly of one of the worst droughts in recent times and a stricken economy with low street purchasing power. This generates itn the fat farm market there is more supply than demand.

In November, therefore, the growth in value was 1.3%; in October, 2.2%; in September, 1.8%; in August, 1.2%; in July there were no changes; and in June, 1.4%. The last big jump in value was in May when it jumped 6%.

In any case, consumption has not recovered and has increased by only 400 grams per inhabitant, reaching 47.2 kilos per capita, according to data from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Meat (Ciccra).

Instead, the other alternative meats grew higher than the beef. The price of fresh chicken showed increases of 2.8% in November compared to October. Compared to November 2021 values, chicken has increased its price by 96.5%.

– For its part, the price of pork brisket showed increases of 1.9% compared to the previous month. And compared to the values of November 2021 increases of 66.7%.
