Cigarettes are increasing: from this Monday they cost 13% more

Starting Monday January 9, cigarettes will be more expensive: they increase by an average of 13%,said Massalin Particulares, one of the country’s two largest tobacco producers. In 2022, they had last climbed in November and had seen a year-over-year increase of between 80% and 100%, in five incremental increases.

Last year the first increase was at the end of February, then there were increases in May, July, September and November, when they added an average of 16%.

So the Marlboro Box 20 bundle will be around $560 (up $70), the GoldKS value will be $490, and the Box 20 will be $320.

On the Philips Morris side, the Box 20 will cost around $500; the Common Pack, $440; and the 12-pack; $280.

Meanwhile, the Chesterfield Box 20 and Coral Motion, Purple Motion and Blue Motion Box 20 will retail for $440. The KS 20 will cost $360 and the 10-unit Box packs will cost $225.

Massalin should be joined by BAT, the other multi-brand in the sector.
