The government has announced measures for producers affected by the severe drought. It was after the meeting held by the Economy Minister, Sergio Massa, with the leaders of the liaison table.
Massa, who was accompanied by the secretary of agriculture, Juan José Bahillo and the secretary of industry and development, José de Mendiguren, among other officials, informed ruralists that revolving funds will be developed to reach small producers through agreements with provinces, municipalities and agricultural cooperatives. The government estimates that this measure reaches 18,000 producers.
Furthermore, they have agreed to suspend the Irpef advances for all those producers in difficulty or covered by the emergency, in particular.
New credit lines at subsidized rates will also be envisaged to meet commercial commitments and working capital and rents for the next campaign.
And the Central Bank will repeal the resolution that increases the financial cost of soybean producers who keep more than 5% withheld in their field-
Present on behalf of the ruralists were the presidents of Coninagro, Elbio Laucirica, of the Rural Confederations (CRA), Jorge Chemes, of the Argentine Agricultural Federation (FAA), Carlos Achetoni and of the Rural Society (SRA), Nicolás Pino.
