Retirements of university teachers increased by 21.57% in March

In March, the quarterly increase of lThe 9,427 retired and retired national university teachers It will be 21.57%, according to Social Security records.

This increase is due to the fact that retired university teachers have a own mobility which is calculated from the change in the salaries of teachers in service with contributions to ANSeS, the so-called “Average taxable salary of university professors” (RIPDUN).

Unlike the general regime, retired teachers have a special regime, linked to the salaries of the assets that contribute to ANSeS, taking into account the quarterly variations.

Until the end of last year the capital adjustment was every six months. AND became quarterly by Resolution no. 1566/2022 of November of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.

There it is specified with “the current inflationary environment it is necessary to grant the mobility that corresponds to them under equal temporal conditions with respect to the rest of the pension recipients.

The sequence of increases since 2018:

• In 2018retired academics received two raises for a total of 21.8%, compared with inflation of 47.6%. A drop of 17.5%.

• In 2019the increase in teachers was 29.6% and inflation was 53.8%. A loss of 15.7%.

• In 2020there was a partial recovery: the increase in teachers was 56.2% against inflation of 36.1%. An improvement of 14.8%.

• In 2021the increase was 45.9% compared to inflation of 50.9%, a loss of 3.3%.

• In 2022, the increase was 88.78% against inflation of 94.8%. Represents a loss against inflation of 3.1%.

End to end, represents a deterioration of 25.2%.

The differentiated increases for retired university teachers are due to the fact that the sector pension law provides that active workers contribute two points more (13% of their salary) and retire with 82% corresponding to the position they they had in business.
