Edenor stayed with most of the neighborhoods being high-income from the city of Buenos Aires and the northern suburbs. This may have contributed to his net being more careful than Edesur’s. But it also supplies the western suburbs, where there are emergency quarters.

The Edenor grant was for domestic and foreign capital. The French EDF ended up prevailing. At the end of 2001, devaluation and weighting disrupted the regulatory framework for concessions. EDF, which had the reins in Edenor, threw in the towel there. Marcelo Mindlin -a skilled businessman from real estate up to that point – he saw an opportunity to be a player in the energy sector and gained control of the company. Even then it was said that Edenor’s net was better than Edesur’s. Which was more modernized and better maintained.

mindlin delved into the modernization of Edenor. During Mauricio Macri’s administration, he was offered $500 million for the company, which the businessman declined. There was Chinese interest at a time when energy stocks were trading very well, before the devaluation that hit the Mauricio Macri government in mid-2018.

Mindlin gave control of Edenor to a group led by Daniel Vila and José Luis Manzano. He sold it at a low price compared to previous offers. The company has run up a debt with Cammesa, the electrical wholesale company. But the 2023 budget, voted by Congress, voted it could be refinanced. And the Ministry of Energy has forgiven the principal debt and interest of Edenor, Edesur and dozens of companies.
