Unemployment was 6.3% in the last quarter of 2022

THE vacancy rate was located in 6.3% in the last quarter of 2022, which marks a drop of eight tenths of a point compared to the previous period, as reported by INDEC this Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Activity rate was around 47.6% and of occupation chassis 44.6%.

In the third quarter of 2022, the activity, employment and unemployment rates stood at 47.6%, 44.2% and 7.1%, respectively.

THE underemployment of the applicant, which includes people who work up to 35 hours a week and want to add more hours, reached 7.1% in the last quarter of last year, down from 8.6% in the same period of 2021.

While, undemanding underemploymentit stands at 3.8%, compared to 3.5% in the fourth quarter of the previous year.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, Cuyo was the region with the highest employment rate (46.5%); AND Greater Buenos Aires, the one with the highest unemployment (7%). Meanwhile, both shared the top spot in activity rate (48.3%).

The unemployment rate was highest in women (6.7%) than men (6%) during the measured period, with young people being the most affected.

The employed population who worked from home fell from 10.5% to 9.4% between the fourth quarter of 2021 and 2022.

Economic activity increased by 5.2% in 2022

On the other hand, INDEC reported that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) it grew 5.2% last year.

Furthermore, the GDP of the fourth quarter of last year was 1.9% higher than that of the same period of 2021, while it was 1.5% less than in the third quarter of 2022.

INDEC reported that during the fourth quarter of last year there was a 0.1% increase in gross fixed capital formation, while private consumption grew by 5.1%, public sector consumption they decreased by 2.1% and exports of real goods and services recorded an increase of 8.6%.

In seasonally adjusted terms, compared to the third quarter of 2022, imports decreased by 8.6%, private consumption decreased by 1.5%, public sector consumption decreased by 0.3% , exports increased by 8.7% and gross fixed capital formation decreased by 7.2%.
