For registered workers (formalised sector) March inflation was 7.5%, which represents an interannual increase of 104.6%. This is indicated by a report prepared by UMET (Metropolitan University for Education and Work), chaired by former Education Minister Nicolás Trotta. “In the first quarter of the year, inflation exceeded 20%”, underlines the report.

In March, the items that rise above the average were communication (12%) and food (8.3%). Just below were recreation and culture (6.9%), transportation (6.7%), housing (6.6%), healthcare (6.2%) and household appliances (5.7%). The least increased were clothing and footwear (4.4%) and education (4%).

The UMET data does not deviate too much from other studies, which project inflation close to 7% for March. In the City of Buenos Aires, the CPI was 7.1% and brought the interannual variation to 105.5%, against 6% in February.
