The cuts were the biggest at the time, even if they triggered a streak for Edesur, which also cut supplies to thousands of homes in February and March. The government has always been willing to impose fines. While there have been flirtations from hard-line sectors with a ‘nationalization’, the arrival of a new controller has been arranged. Jorge Ferraresi, also mayor of Avellaneda, was appointed.

The houses they had cuts between 10 and 24 hours -always on 5 and 12 December- will receive compensation of $1,451, as reported by Enre. For a one to two day supply shortage, Edesur has to return $2,418. In the event of interruptions exceeding two days, the compensation will reach $3,385.

The Enre has drawn up a table of compensation according to each of the cases. “It must be credited to the account of the same (the victim) within ten (10) administrative working days, counted from the notification of this termination,” according to the Enre.

For homes that have suffered damage to their appliances, Enre warned They can make more complaints. “Users can cause damage to the structures and/or artifacts they own, the recognition of which has a specific procedure that has been established (…)”, reported the Enre. Any victims of the cuts, under the protection of Enre, will be able to claim and “initiate, possibly, claims in court and/or out of court for the greater damages and losses suffered, all by the distributor who will have to notify the user by incorporating a message to that effect on the invoice”, reported Enre.

Subsequent cuts will affect an assessment made by the regulator. Edesur had these problems in the 53rd semester of its concession, which was from September 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023. In addition to these December cuts, what happened in February will be added.

“At the end of the semester, Enre will proceed to verify the calculations determined by the concessionaire and will evaluate the related charges in the event of discrepancies in the calculations. Likewise, the months not covered by this resolution will be included in the analysis of the extraordinary impact on the provision of the service”, reported the regulator whose owner is Walter Martello.

Martello, together with a group of specialists in different areas, carries out a comprehensive audit of Edesur’s performance. The removal of the concession for accumulation of faults is very difficult, according to various specialists.
