The AFIP has increased the minimum amounts from which banks and payment service providers (PSPs), such as Mercado Pago or Modo, they have to inform the movements of their customers.
General resolution 5348/2023, published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette, elevates the values of information regimes.
From now on, banks must inform AFIP when the accumulated total amount of monthly deposits and withdrawals in current accounts, passbooks, payroll and social security; and special accounts is equal to or greater than $200,000, instead of the $90,000 stipulated above.
They must also communicate the movements when the sales of accounts equal to or greater than this amount on the last working day of the monthjust like when they make term deposits.
On the other hand, financial institutions have to provide information from now on of all these customer conceptseven when the amount is exceeded in only one of them.
The resolution also increases the amounts in the case of administrators of payment processing systems through electronic or digitally managed platforms, including payment service providers (PSPs) – known as virtual wallets – who have been incorporated into this information regime in the July 2021.
Firms must disclose the amounts, as well as the list of customer accounts, in case the total revenue or expenditure in the period is equal or exceed $120,000 -instead of the previous $30,000- and when balances on the last business day of the month are $200,000 or more, increasing the previous low by $90,000.
Finally, the regime also applies when the type of transaction, whether incoming or outgoing (cash, bank transfer, foreign currency, digital currency) is wire or wire transfer and is $400,000 or more.
The update of the amounts will start to apply for the operations that are carried out from May 1st Subsequently, indicate the resolution of the revenue agency.
